Nippon Cinema

The catastrophic events of March 11th, 2011 not only left behind a shocked country, but shook the Japanese film market as well. The cinema revenues decreased an 18% to the lowest level of the last ten years. A lot of projects were either postponed or cancelled. Nevertheless there was a visible rise of films dealing with the consequences of the disaster. Besides our usual selection NIPPON CONNECTION will show some documentaries and feature films that deal with this subject. All movies of NIPPON CINEMA that are presented as premiere screenings compete for the NIPPON CINEMA AWARD donated by Bankhaus Metzler.
